Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position is located onsite in Layton, Utah.
NC Engineers are responsible for creating and maintaining NC Programming and machining processes. An ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, an aptitude for CNC and machining processes, and should be technically knowledgeable of a wide range of manufacturing aspects. Activities will include CNC programming, machining process development, ownership of machining related projects including any pre and post machining operations.
The following essential job functions are performed as a NC Engineer:
  • Maintain knowledge and development of the most up to date CNC/machining practices
  • Develop and train personnel to new processes
  • Work with CNC programmers and project teams to effectively process parts through CNC machines
  • Communicates, consults with, and participates in design and manufacturing support
  • Helps to develop and release planning and purchases supplies
  • Maintains an overview of production processes and facilities
  • Develops and executes high level and detailed project plans, including managing schedules and budgets
  • Works directly with the customer technical team to determine detailed requirements and deliverables, communicates or presents to customer on project status or health
  • Directs and participates in engineering activities, including design and drafting, engineering reviews, and work order preparation
  • Responsible for assuring materials are organized and ready for manufacturing
  • Interacts frequently with shop floor to ensure project health
  • Completes and understands all quality requirements for projects
  • Manages project scope and performs risk assessments
  • Monitors and reports project financial performance
  • Shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in the English language
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance, this is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Design Technology, or a similar field is required
  • A combination of extensive work experience, (10+ Years) and other education may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
  • CNC programming/machining experience
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products; some experience with Catia, NX Unigraphics, and SAP is desirable
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
  • Must be familiar with a variety of the fields' concepts, practices and procedures
  • Must be able to rely on extensive experience, problem-solving skills and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in the English language

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Wage range for this role is between $83,000 - $148,000 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
