Job Description

The Design & Development Engineer (Manufacturing) is responsible for developing, testing, and refining product designs and manufacturing processes. This role focuses on improving production efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring designs are optimized for manufacturability. The position works cross-functionally to support product development from concept through production and continuous improvement.

Hours

6:30AM - 4:00PM

Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday

Pay

$70,000 - $100,000

Job Duties

• Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks) for new and existing products
• Design, build, and test prototypes; analyze performance and implement design improvements
• Troubleshoot design and production issues to meet quality and performance standards
• Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Create and maintain engineering documentation including BOMs, assembly instructions, and specifications
• Collaborate with production, quality, and purchasing teams to support product launches and improvements
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, design enhancements, and process optimization
• Apply data-driven analysis to support continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in design or manufacturing engineering
• Strong proficiency with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, injection molding, fabrication)
• Experience with material selection and product design for manufacturability
• Experience with engineering analysis (FEA, tolerance stack-ups, root cause analysis)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
