Job Description Position Title: Engineering Manager - Midstream Processing Systems Location: East Houston Area (Baytown / Channelview) Overview A major player in the energy infrastructure space is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead technical and operational engineering efforts across downstream and fractionation assets. This individual will oversee a team of engineers while driving optimization, reliability, and capital project execution across a complex asset base. This role blends leadership, technical expertise, and business alignment, serving as a key bridge between operations, engineering, and commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of engineers supporting downstream operations, ensuring high-quality technical output and professional development Oversee engineering support for fractionation, treating, storage, and transportation systems Drive optimization initiatives focused on improving safety, reliability, efficiency, and margin performance Establish priorities and allocate resources across operational support and project execution efforts Collaborate with senior leadership, operations, and commercial teams to align engineering initiatives with business goals Champion the use of data-driven tools and advanced control strategies to enhance asset performance Ensure consistency and compliance with internal engineering standards, as well as applicable industry codes and regulations Provide oversight for troubleshooting, debottlenecking, and continuous improvement initiatives Technical & Operational Oversight Guide process engineering activities, including equipment specification, system design, and performance analysis Oversee development and validation of process simulations, material balances, and optimization models Ensure proper design and interpretation of engineering deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, and piping layouts Support implementation of control strategies, instrumentation design, and process safety systems Maintain a strong working knowledge of midstream processing systems, including compression, dehydration, hydrocarbon recovery, and stabilization Project & Asset Management Support and oversee projects through full lifecycle execution (scope development, FEL, design, construction, commissioning) Review and validate project scopes, cost estimates, and schedules prior to execution Monitor project performance and ensure alignment with budget and timeline expectations Contribute to the development of capital forecasts and long-term asset planning strategies Ensure effective execution of MOC processes, hazard analyses, and regulatory compliance requirements Collaboration & Leadership Serve as a primary interface between engineering, operations, EHS, commercial, procurement, and finance teams Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement within the engineering team Mentor and develop engineers, providing coaching, feedback, and career guidance Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience in midstream, gas processing, or hydrocarbon operations (leadership experience expected) Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams or supervising technical staff Strong background in downstream processing systems and operations support Proficiency with process simulation tools (e.g., ProMax or equivalent) Solid understanding of applicable industry standards (API, ASME, NFPA, etc.) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Experience 10+ years of experience in midstream operations, engineering, or capital project environments Experience managing both operational support and capital project engineering teams Familiarity with project scheduling and planning tools (e.g., Microsoft Project) Understanding of financial evaluation metrics (IRR, NPV, payback) Proven track record of developing engineering talent and improving team performance
