Job description

Venture Global LNG ("Venture Global") is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company's Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global's modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.

We are seeking qualified applicants for the position:

Associate Engineer, Electrical

Located:

Houston

Venture Global LNG is seeking a skilled and motivated Associate Engineer with 0-5 years of experience to support the design and execution of electrical systems for LNG liquefaction facilities and associated power infrastructure.

This position is based in the electrical design office and will focus on engineering design, technical coordination, and power system analysis for large-scale industrial and energy projects. The role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary project environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and development of MV, LV, and HV electrical systems for LNG and power facilities
  • Assist in preparation and review of electrical deliverables, including:
    • Single-line diagrams
    • Load lists and cable schedules
    • Equipment specifications and data sheets
    • Electrical area classification drawings
    • Grounding and lightning protection layouts
  • Perform or support power system studies such as:
    • Load flow analysis
    • Short circuit studies
    • Motor starting studies
    • Grounding studies
    • Protection coordination (as applicable)
  • Assist with relay settings calculations and protection philosophy development (as applicable)
  • Support vendor package reviews for major equipment (transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, VFDs, generators, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, IEC, API, etc.)
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams including process, mechanical, instrumentation & controls, and civil/structural
  • Support technical bid evaluations and review of contractor/subcontractor documentation
  • Participate in internal design reviews, HAZOPs, and constructability reviews

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience in industrial, power generation, or LNG facility design
  • Experience in power systems and/or LNG projects preferred
  • Basic knowledge of MV/HV systems, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and industrial power distribution
  • Familiarity with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, or similar)
  • Understanding of NEC, IEEE, and other relevant industry standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-discipline environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting LNG liquefaction, regasification, or large industrial energy projects
  • Exposure to protection and control systems
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
  • Experience reviewing vendor drawings and technical submittals
  • Familiarity with hazardous area classification requirements

Work Environment:

  • Office-based engineering role
  • Occasional travel to project sites or vendor facilities may be required
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders, EPC contractors, and equipment vendors.
