Job Title:            Civil Engineer

FLSA Status:      Non Exempt/Exempt


General Purpose:

The primary responsibility of the Civil Engineer is the design and of land development and public works projects, as well as the management of many of the tasks required.


Duties and Responsibilities:

ยท        Prepare construction drawings, plans, and project specifications.

ยท        Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, grading plans, street improvements, utilities and

specifications.

ยท        Ensure technical accuracy, standard engineering practices, and inclusion of appropriate

documentation on various plans, reports and design documents.

ยท        Identify problems, evaluate alternatives and recommend solutions to peers and management.

ยท        Collaborate with peers and management as necessary to complete work.

ยท        Prepare and manage storm water calculations and reporting.

ยท        Plot and assemble civil engineering plans and reports.

ยท        Assist other departments with drafting and technical support needs.

ยท        Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

ยท        Knowledge of engineering fundamentals.

ยท        Thorough knowledge of land development approval process, including site grading, storm water

management and the entitlement process.

ยท        Ability to provide technical instruction and organizational skills to complete work in a timely and

efficient manner to ensure project tasks are completed on budget and on schedule.

ยท        Proficiency in AutoCAD.

ยท        6+ years of relevant experience

ยท        Bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

ยท        EIT preferred.
