Le chef d'equipe de la conception mecanique inspirera et dirigera une equipe croissante et dynamique de concepteurs mecaniques, responsables de la conception de machines d'emballage primaire, de systemes integres et de solutions configures pour repondre aux demandes du marche et aux applications et exigences specifiques des clients. ย  ย ย 
Relevant du gestionnaire de l'ingenierie, le chef d'equipe de la conception mecanique est charge d'organiser et de planifier l'equipe, de fournir des directives, de diriger les applications de test pratiques, d'approuver les dessins techniques et de piloter les indicateurs de performance cles et les performances du departement.ย 

Responsabilites

ย  ย Examiner les specifications du projet et attribuer les travaux d'ingenierie mecanique a l'equipe qui prend en charge le developpement du produit et le calendrier d'execution du projet. ย 
ย  ย Responsable de la livraison a temps et de la qualite de tous les travaux assignes a l'equipe de conception mecanique
ย  ย Responsable de la publication en temps opportun des conceptions mecaniques et des nomenclatures pour soutenir le developpement de produits et l'execution de projetsย 
ย  ย Soutenir les revues de conception et fournir des conseils a l'equipe de conceptionย 
ย  ย Examiner et approuver les dessins techniques.ย 
ย  ย Definir les estimations de main-d'uvre et le budget associes a l'execution du projet et au developpement du produitย 
ย  ย Soutenir et evaluer les nouvelles technologies pour repondre aux exigences anticipees des clients en collaboration avec les ventes et le Gestionnaire de l'ingenierieย 
ย  ย Assurer l'alignement du plan de developpement du produit avec le gestionnaire de l'ingenierieย 
ย  ย Recommander et mettre en uvre les meilleures pratiques et les conceptions standard pour ameliorer la qualite. ย 
ย  ย Favoriser l'amelioration continue du departement en fonction des indicateurs de performance cles et des donnees de performance.ย 
ย  ย Mesurer et rapporter des donnees de performance de qualite.ย 
ย  ย Suivre l'utilisation du service et la performance individuelle de l'equipe de design
ย  ย Soutenir les equipes d'assemblage, de fabrication et de service avec des problemes techniques.ย 
ย  ย Renforcer les capacites de l'equipe de conception mecanique en fonction de la matrice des competences et des exigences operationnelles ย 
ย  ย Developper des bases de connaissances et des programmes de formation solides, tout en fournissant une expertise produit pour soutenir la strategie et la vision a long terme.
ย  ย Elaborer des documents et des procedures afin de s'assurer que les processus de travail et les normes sont respectes.
ย  ย Participer au programme SRED, rediger et reviser la soumission.ย 
ย  ย Interface with clients when required. ย 
ย  ย Voyager au besoin.

Job Summary

The Mechanical Design Lead will inspire and lead a growing and dynamic team of mechanical designers, responsible for designing primary packaging machines, integrated systems & solutions configured to meet market demands and customer specific applications and requirements.ย 
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the mechanical design lead is responsible to organize and schedule the team, provide direction, direct hands-on testing applications, approve technical drawings and drive department KPI's and performance.

Job Responsibilities ย  ย 

  • Review Project Specifications and assign mechanical engineering work to the design team that supports Product Development and Project Execution schedule.
  • Accountable for on time delivery and quality of all work assigned to design team
  • Accountable for the timely release of mechanical designs and BOM's to support Product Development and Project Execution
  • Support Design reviews and provide guidance to design team
  • Review and approve technical drawings.
  • Define labor estimates and budget associated with Project Execution and Product Development
  • Support and assess new technology to meet anticipated customer requirements in collaboration with Sales & the Engineering Manager
  • Ensure alignment of Product Development Plan with Engineering Manager
  • Recommend and implement best practices and standard designs to improve quality.
  • Drive departmental continuous improvement based on KPI's and performance data.
  • Measure and report on quality performance data.
  • Track department utilization and individual performance of design team
  • Supporting assembly and fabrication & service team with technical issues.
  • Build capacity across the design team according to skills matrix and operational requirements
  • Build knowledge bases and robust training programs while providing product insight on strategy and long-term vision.
  • Build documents and procedures to help ensure the workflow and standards are respected.
  • Participate in the SRED program, writing and reviewing submission.
  • Interface with clients when required.
  • Travel as needed.
