What is an Engineer I?

An Engineer I is an entry-level engineering professional who typically assists with design, development, testing, or maintenance tasks under the supervision of more experienced engineers. This role is often filled by recent graduates with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, providing them with foundational experience in their field. Engineer I positions serve as a starting point for career growth, offering opportunities to learn technical skills, industry standards, and company procedures. Responsibilities may vary by industry but generally include supporting engineering projects, conducting basic analyses, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
