Marriott International Headquarters is a premier, 750,000-square-foot, 21-story Class A office building located at 7750 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda, Maryland. Designed to reflect Marriott's core values of hospitality, innovation, and operational excellence, the campus serves as a dynamic, high-performance environment supporting a diverse range of corporate and executive functions.
The facility features a complex and highly integrated infrastructure, including a multi-level underground parking garage, full-service loading dock operations, and secure access-controlled areas supporting both corporate and executive use. The building is further activated by a vibrant workplace experience, with a full-service cafeteria, a public-facing café, and a shared outdoor plaza connecting to an adjacent hotel, creating a seamless blend of workplace and guest environments. The Maintenance Helper supports Marriott International corporate headquarters office by ensuring a safe, functional, and well-maintained workplace for associates. Responsibilities include performing routine maintenance tasks, responding promptly to work orders, assisting with furniture moves and reconfiguration of office furniture event setups (including stage builds and furniture moves), and providing hands-on support for engineering and operations teams. The position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent internal customer service.

  • Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor.

Maintenance Duties
  • Assist with physical, non-technical tasks such as moving furniture and office moves/reconfigurations.
  • Provide hands-on help for day-to-day operations, including preventive maintenance and workplace upkeep.
  • Respond to emergency room, space, and stage set-ups.
  • Offer coverage for loading dock operations when needed.
  • Support customer service delivery by ensuring timely assistance for internal requests and maintaining a clean, functional environment.
  • Follow safety protocols and company standards during all tasks, including proper handling of tools and equipment.
  • Perform basic maintenance activities including but not limited to light bulb replacement, filter changes, minor plumbing, and minor repairs under supervision of engineering staff.
  • Assist with inventory management for supplies and report shortages to the maintenance manager.
  • Provide general support for access, deliveries, and stocking supplies.
  • Escort and badge vendors to support project work and walk-throughs.
  • Participate in on-the-job training programs to develop skills for future advancement into technical roles.

  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects).

Install, Maintain, and Repair Items
  • Ensure that all flammable materials are stored in OSHA and EPA approved containment devices.
  • Carry all equipment (e.g., keys, phones, pager, tools, radio) in order to maintain preparedness to carry out work tasks at all times.
  • Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
  • Perform miscellaneous minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and patching holes in walls.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects weighing in excess of 100 pounds (e.g., A/C unit, television, dresser)

Maintain Building and Property
  • Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to the manager/supervisor.
  • Data management under guidance of engineering team to document work orders, procedures, inventories, and reporting on work output.

Plumbing
  • Fix minor plumbing problems such as unclogging drains, plunging toilets, and repairing spigots and faucets using appropriate techniques.
