Job Title: Engineering Director
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $105,000.00 - $180,000.00
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid - onsite and remote
Overview
The Director of Engineering is responsible for directing, overseeing, and utilizing functional authority for operation, planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of all projects or process-related activities of engineering design or commissioning.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee engineering projects, ensuring timely and efficient completion of design and commissioning activities.
  • Manage a team comprising project managers, engineers, commissioning agents, and technicians, delegating tasks according to expertise and project needs.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, and commissioning standards for accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors, and pursue opportunities for new business based on project success.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to meet client and company objectives.
  • Coordinate travel to job sites (up to 30%) and attend meetings on-site and remotely as required.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a 4-year accredited program or acceptable alternative such as Engineering Technology or Construction Management Degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager, or a minimum of 15 years of experience in project management within the industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Professional Engineering License preferred.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills for marketing and business development.
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel willingness for approximately 30% of work time.
  • Physical ability to perform site visits, including walking and climbing stairs.
