Make Every Day an Adventure for School-Age Children

Do you enjoy creating engaging experiences that keep children active, learning, and having fun? Are you passionate about building positive relationships with school-age children and helping them grow in confidence, independence, and responsibility?

We are seeking a dedicated School Age Lead Teacher to lead our School Age Program and Summer Camp. This position offers the opportunity to create exciting learning experiences throughout the school year while planning and leading a fun-filled summer camp program that children look forward to all year long.

As a School Age Lead Teacher, you'll help create a safe, engaging environment where children can explore their interests, build friendships, develop new skills, and enjoy meaningful experiences before and after school, on school breaks, and throughout the summer.


Expected Hours: 

37.5-40 hours per week for 52 weeks per year. 

Current need is 9:30am-5:30pm or a split shift (7-9am and 12:00-5:30pm). 

No nights or weekends!   


What You'll DoCreate Engaging Programs and Activities
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for school-age children.
  • Create opportunities for learning, creativity, physical activity, and social-emotional growth.
  • Develop engaging programming during the school year, including homework support, enrichment activities, recreation, and special projects.
  • Plan and lead an exciting summer camp program that includes themed activities, special events, outdoor play, field trips, and memorable experiences.
Build Positive Relationships with Children
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment where children feel safe, respected, and valued.
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor for children.
  • Encourage independence, responsibility, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Interact with children throughout activities to support learning and relationship-building.
Partner with Families
  • Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers regarding children's participation, progress, and needs.
  • Share important updates through daily communication, newsletters, Brightwheel, emails, phone calls, and other communication methods.
  • Participate in family engagement activities and program events.
Lead and Collaborate
  • Supervise and support assistant teachers, aides, and support staff assigned to the program.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure a high-quality experience for children.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and administration to support program goals and daily operations.
  • Assist with supporting other age groups and classrooms as needed throughout the year.
Maintain a Safe and High-Quality Environment
  • Ensure children's safety and supervision at all times.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and required program documentation.
  • Create and maintain an organized, safe, and engaging environment.
  • Follow DHS licensing regulations and program policies and procedures.
  • Participate in required trainings and staff meetings.
