Job description

Since founded in 1994, Kafka Conveyors & Equipment Inc. has grown into a well - known supplier and manufacturer of conveyors, providing consistently high quality and prompt equipment delivery. With the company expanding, we have MIG Welder/ Fabricator positions available. This position requires knowledge of MIG welding, wire feed welding, fabrication and ability to read blueprints. Experience of at least 1 year and/or degree is preferred. Duties and responsibilities of the job include:

  • Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications and work orders to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding
  • Lay out, position, align and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, and tape measure.
  • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits
  • Position and secure work pieces, using hoists, cranes or hand tools
  • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade such as MIG welding, torch, plasma torch, and overhead crane.
  • Remove rough spots from work pieces using portable grinders
  • Weld components in flat or vertical positions
