Job Description

Broad Function and Purpose of Position

To effectively manage the engineering, process engineering and maintenance functions at the facility.  This includes the development, implementations and improvement of preventative maintenance for the equipment, and leading a department of Maintenance Technicians, Process Engineers, Controls Engineers, Parts Coordinator, and others.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily maintenance operations, ensuring that all equipment and systems are functioning optimally and safely.
  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance and engineering staff, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance budget, forecasting future needs and ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Responsible for the training and development of professional engineering staff
  • Implement and support continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance processes and engineering practices.
  • Creates material flow layouts.
  • Familiar with OSHA codes as they relate to industry and safety.
  • Oversee ergonomic designs for workplace layouts as well as 5S organization projects.
  • Familiar with EPA regulations as they relate to industry and workplace safety.
  • Oversees machinery and equipment review, improvement and upgrades.
  • Oversees construction and facility engineering.
  • Understands Total Productive Maintenance concepts including OEE, Downtime reduction, and support schedule attainment.
  • Manages capital budgets for current projects and future requirements
  • Work with the local production work force to understand their needs and support improvement initiatives on the production floor.
  • Develop and implement Maintenance budgets including Spare parts, Outside Vendors support, Facility requirements and more.
  • Work with the local leadership team to define the vision for the future and implement the steps necessary to actualize the vision.
  • Work with other Sika facilities to generate and document Best Demonstrated Practices (BDPs).
Qualifications

Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering. 
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • At Least 10 years direct engineering/maintenance experience (5 years supervisory experience). 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges effectively.
  • Technically oriented.  Highly organized.  Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Hands-on leader spending more time on the floor than in the office
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally a few times a year to learn and share BDPs.
