Job description

The Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Specialist works under the general direction of a manager or senior team members to support SEO, GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), and AISO (AI Search Optimization) initiatives. This role focuses on execution, reporting, and coordination while developing functional expertise and understanding of how organic and Artificial Intelligence (AI) driven search supports business and sales strategy.

Core Responsibilities

  • Supports SEO, GEO, and AISO initiatives under general direction
    Supports SEO, GEO, and AISO plans, initiatives, and optimizations by executing assigned tasks and contributing to larger programs.

  • Executes defined components of SEO plans
    Supports SEO planning efforts by executing defined tactics aligned to business objectives, sales strategy, and department priorities.

  • Applies foundational SEO and AI search best practices
    Applies foundational SEO, GEO, and AISO best practices and guidance from senior team members to complete assigned work and address routine issues.

  • Communicates status and issues to stakeholders
    Communicates status, timelines, and issues related to SEO activity to team members and stakeholders, escalating risks as appropriate.

  • Builds working relationships across teams
    Builds effective working relationships with marketing partners, content teams, analytics partners, and other stakeholders.

  • Identifies and escalates risks
    Identifies potential risks related to SEO, GEO, and AISO initiatives and escalates issues to managers or senior team members.

  • Supports data analysis and reporting
    Collects, analyzes, and reports on SEO and AI search performance data to support insights, planning, and optimization.

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience

  • Foundational knowledge of SEO concepts and analytics tools

  • Prior experience with Conductor (preferred), BrightEdge, SEMrush, Search Atlas, SEO Clarity is strongly preferred

  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence is preferred, but not required

  • Interest in developing skills related to GEO and AISO
