Job description

Job Title: Ecommerce User Experience & SEO Specialist

Location: New York, NY (in-office)

Department: Ecommerce / Digital Experience

Reports To: Manager, Ecommerce User Experience & Optimization

Compensation: $55-65k

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Ecommerce User Experience & SEO Specialist to support and optimize multiple Shopify-based websites through the execution of UX and SEO initiatives across our ecommerce platforms. This role will work closely with the Manager of Ecommerce User Experience & Optimization to implement UX enhancements, manage Shopify site maintenance, conduct research and testing, and execute SEO best practices that improve site usability, organic traffic, and conversion performance. You will be hands-on in analyzing site behavior, supporting A/B tests, optimizing content and technical SEO elements, and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver a seamless and discoverable shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

Ecommerce & Shopify Management

Assist in the day-to-day management of multiple Shopify websites.

Update product listings, collections, navigation, and on-site content.

Ensure site content is accurate, up to date, and aligned with brand standards.

Support product launches, promotions, and seasonal updates.

UX Optimization

Support the execution of UX initiatives by implementing approved design and experience improvements across our ecommerce websites.

Assist in conducting UX research, usability testing, and customer journey analysis across multiple sites to identify friction points and optimization opportunities.

Use site diagnostic and behavior tools (e.g., heatmaps, session recordings, analytics) to surface insights and recommend improvements.

Ensure UX updates align with mobile-first, accessibility, and conversion best practices.

Partner with creative, marketing, design, and engineering teams to support implementation of UX enhancements.

SEO Implementation & Performance Optimization

Execute SEO initiatives under the direction of the Manager, including on-page, technical, and content optimizations.

Assist with regular SEO audits to identify crawl issues, broken links, metadata gaps, and optimization opportunities.

Implement SEO best practices across product pages, category pages, landing pages, and site content.

Monitor keyword rankings, site health, and organic search performance using tools such as Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and/or Moz.

Partner with content and merchandising teams to ensure SEO best practices are applied consistently across all sites.

Optimization & Performance Analysis

Track and report on key performance indicators such as conversion rate, organic traffic, bounce rate, page speed, and CTR.

Support A/B and multivariate testing efforts, including test setup, QA, analysis, and documentation of results.

Analyze site analytics and performance data to identify UX and SEO-driven opportunities for growth.

Document learnings and insights from testing and optimization efforts to inform future initiatives.

Project Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Support project timelines and deliverables across UX and SEO initiatives.

Coordinate with internal teams including merchandising, creative, marketing, and engineering to ensure smooth execution.

Assist in preparing performance updates, insights, and recommendations for internal stakeholders.

Support additional Ecommerce UX and SEO projects as assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications

1-3 years of experience in ecommerce with a focus on UX, SEO, and digital optimization.

Hands-on experience managing Shopify stores.

Familiarity with analytics and SEO tools such as Shopify Analytics, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar platforms.

Working knowledge of UX principles and conversion optimization.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and UX research practices.

Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, in-office environment.
