Job description

Precision Engine Builder – Piston Aircraft

Tulsa, OK | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Who We Are

Some shops assemble engines. This one builds legacies. For over 20 years, this boutique Tulsa aviation shop has been the go-to name in precision piston aircraft engine overhaul — attracting craftspeople who hold themselves to an uncompromising standard. If quality is non-negotiable for you, you'll feel right at home here.

What's In It For You

  • Competitive salary

  • Relocation assistance considered on a case-by-case basis

  • Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Paid time off + paid holidays

  • Company-paid health & dental insurance

  • Company-paid retirement plan

The Role

Hands-on, high-stakes work for a craftsperson who thrives on precision. You'll assemble, overhaul, and test piston aircraft engines from the ground up — following manufacturer specs to the letter and leaving zero room for error.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Build, repair, and test engine subcomponents in strict accordance with manufacturer specifications

  • Interpret and apply Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and overhaul manuals

  • Perform thorough parts inspections before any component enters the build

  • Review and validate third-party vendor repair documentation

  • Use precision measurement tools — micrometers, bore gauges, calipers — to verify tolerances

  • Conduct compliance checks at key stages throughout assembly

  • Run functional engine tests using approved procedures and equipment

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues uncovered during testing

  • Keep detailed, accurate build documentation at every stage

  • Collaborate with the Shop Foreman and leadership team as needed

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of hands-on aircraft engine build or maintenance experience

  • OR a strong background as a diesel or motorcycle mechanic with precision assembly experience

  • Working knowledge of reciprocating aircraft engine theory and operation

  • Confidence using micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and related measurement tools

  • Sharp math skills and an eye for detail that doesn't quit

  • Your own set of personal hand tools

Bonus Points For:

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License

  • A track record of craftsmanship you're genuinely proud of
