What is an engagement project manager?

Engagement Project Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing and coordinating projects that focus on client or stakeholder engagement. They ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining strong relationships with clients or partners. Their duties often include planning, communication, risk management, and aligning project objectives with broader organizational goals. Engagement Project Managers work in various industries, such as consulting, technology, and non-profits, to drive project success and foster positive stakeholder experiences.

How does an engagement project manager collaborate with cross-functional teams during a project lifecycle?

An Engagement Project Manager regularly collaborates with teams across various departments such as sales, product development, marketing, and customer support to ensure project objectives are met. They facilitate clear communication, align stakeholders on project goals, and manage dependencies between functions. This role often involves organizing regular meetings, updating all parties on progress, and resolving any interdepartmental challenges that arise, making strong interpersonal and organizational skills essential for success.

Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities help foster collaboration and ensure client satisfaction. These skills are crucial for delivering successful projects on time, within budget, and maintaining positive client relationships.

As a Project Manager, you'll play a critical role in every phase of the project lifecycle, including:

  • Lead & Coordinate: Oversee all aspects of hospitality and commercial construction projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, quality, and successful project execution.
  • Client Engagement: Develop strong client relationships and facilitate construction meetings while serving as the primary point of communication throughout the project.
  • Financial Management: Manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, risk mitigation, and financial performance.
  • Bid Process Ownership: Support project pursuits through pre-qualification, estimating coordination, proposal review, and bid submission activities.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner closely with Business Development, Estimators, Architects, Engineers, Subcontractors, and Jobsite Superintendents.
  • Site Presence: Travel to project sites to maintain strong field engagement and proactive project oversight.
  • Project Leadership: Drive successful outcomes while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction, quality, and team performance.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience managing hospitality construction projects, including hotels, resorts, extended-stay facilities, or other hospitality-related developments.
  • Strong background in commercial construction project management.
  • Ability to successfully manage project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and client expectations.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience leading multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional results and creating outstanding client experiences.
Why Join Consolidated?
  • Join a company that values its people as much as its projects.
  • Work on impactful hospitality and commercial construction projects across multiple markets.
  • Be part of a collaborative team committed to quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • Build your career through meaningful growth and leadership opportunities.
  • Make a lasting impact on the communities where we live and work.

  • Direct access to ownership and leaders who are invested in your success.
  • Multi-state opportunities that broaden your experience and career potential.
  • Leadership development programs designed to help you reach the next level.
  • Ongoing culture initiatives that promote connection, recognition, and teamwork.

At Consolidated Construction, we're proud of the projects we build, but even more proud of the people who build them. Quality Experienced Starts with People.
