Overview:

Life Engagement Partner - Full Time, 32 hours per week

RiverWoods is currently hiring for a full time Activities Assistant, what we call a Life Engagement Partner. You will work with our residents towards leading a more active lifestyle and engage in programs and fun here at our campus. The ideal candidate will have a background in Arts and/or entertainment and have a passion for working with people. This is a full time (32 hour/week) position with work required some weekends.

We are looking for team members who will bring their best selves and specialty skills to our organization. Along with a โ€œcan doโ€ attitude, we anticipate you being able to pivot and fill whatever role is needed to create a safe and caring environment for our residents and fellow teammates. Responsibilities:

This position will assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs, in accordance with the residentโ€™s assessment and care plan, as may be directed by Life Engagement Managers.

  • Provides quality customer service with a positive attitude and commitment to teamwork while meeting the needs of residents, staff and visitors. Supports all aspects of the RiverWoods community.
  • Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating the activities program of the facility. Implement activity procedures as directed by the Life Engagement Manager by creating decorations, setting up necessary equipment and crafts, escorting residents to and from activity areas, and awarding prizes, assist in scheduling residents for activities, supervise activities as necessary.
  • Encourage residents to participate in activities, promote conversations with residents on a regular basis, routinely visit residents, conduct individual and/or group activities to encourage purpose and meaning in the lives of the residents.
  • Participate in a quality assurance program for the activity department, as requested; participate in facility surveys (inspections) conducted by authorized government agencies as necessary.
Qualifications:

-High School Diploma required.  Continued education in related field preferred but not required

-Activity experience in healthcare setting preferred 

-Minimum of 2 years' experience in healthcare or related field

-CPR preferred, but not required
