Position Summary Administrative Assistant - Law Enforcement Academy Department of Criminal Justice, Social Work, and Sociology College of Humanities and Social Sciences Full Time Position Summary Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) invites applications to serve as the full-time Administrative Assistant for the Law Enforcement Academy. The Academy operates under the Department of Criminal Justice, Social Work, and Sociology as a Missouri POST Commission authorized Training Center to provide initial training to new recruits, required annual training to officers, and specialized training to individual units and newly promoted officers. Primary Responsibilities Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Law Enforcement Academy and act under the Department Chairperson and Academy Director in that role.

Coordinate administrative support for the Law Enforcement Academy within the overall operations of the Department of Criminal Justice, Social Work, and Sociology Serve as point of contact for Academy including meeting and greeting visitors, answering questions, providing information and resources and answering phones Schedule meetings, appointments, and academy events Handle confidential and sensitive materials in compliance with FERPA, Missouri POST, and university policies Maintain accurate Academy records in compliance with federal and state regulatory agency standards Prepare, format, and distribute reports, memos, training materials, and official documents Disseminate law enforcement academy enrollment information Coordinate correspondence with students and a variety of area law enforcement agencies Assist in the preparation of training schedules Compile and track data for reporting, audits, and accreditation reviews Assist Academy Director in managing the Academy budget including processing purchase requisitions and purchasing supplies Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Demonstrated complete administrative skills including excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access and email programs Excellent organizational and time management skills Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions Evidence of the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team Ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, and the public Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service Required Information & Deadline Application Deadline: Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
