Electrical Journeyman - Job Description
Summary:
Role is responsible for performing all electrical tasks with general supervision. Can demonstrate experience factors exceeding an electrical helper and is sufficient on rough-in work.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install feeders, wire and conduit
  • Switchgear and device installations and terminations
  • Layout and preparation for installation
  • Perform underground layout and rough-in
  • Troubleshooting on motors and controls
  • Possess skills to complete lower job title (apprentice) work
  • Fully comprehends Electrical theory and NFPA 70 National Electric Code
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:
  • Requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year (heat, cold, rain, snow)
  • Must have personal tools with them at all times
  • Must wear personal protective equipment at all times
  • Work from all types of ladders and perform work at various heights
  • Sound eye sight to positively identify colors of wires
  • Be able to bend conduit with hand or with mechanical benders
  • Operate trenches, back hoe, and lift in a safe manner
  • Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or with power equipment
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
  • May be required to work long and unpredictable hours
  • Position requires working outdoors in all types of weather
  • Valid driver's license required

Minimum Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
  • Comprehends reading and drawing prints and schematics
  • Practices and comprehends Enertech safety policy

Soft Skills:

Supervisory Requirements:
None
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with overtime requirements.
Travel
Extensive travel is required for this position. Usually between 80 to 100% of the time.
Required Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); related trade school education preferred
  • Current Journeyman
  • 4 years previous electrical experience required
