Job Description

Position Summary:

This position performs under direct to moderate supervision. In order to develop competence, they will receive training and mentoring from the Supervisor, Manager, Energy Analyst team members, Program Manager and administrative staff.

Responsibilities:

1. Successfully completes training necessary to administer the residential conservation programs.

Training includes application of residential building structure, HVAC system, insulation and duct materials and installation techniques, basic electricity and metering, and all Customer Service programs.

 2. Conducts inspections and post-installation verifications for the Weatherization, Insulation, Ductwork, Window Replacement, Energy Star, and other Residential Rebate and Conservation Programs. Associate would be on site working directly with TEC Contractor to complete verifications on installed weatherization measures in homes.

Evaluates existing attic insulation, visual examinations of duct system to identify problem areas, calculates square footage of house and accessible attic. Explains requirements for Insulation Incentive program, and benefits and limitations of DuctWorks program to customers. 

Schedules contractor appointments for DuctWorks, and issues Insulation Incentive Certificates. Approves any exceptions/deviations to the DuctWorks and Insulation programs, provided desired program results are achieved. For post-installation verifications, verifies that work performed in in accordance with Program Standards.  

Notifies customers and/or contractors of any remaining deficiencies and corrective measures necessary, and initiates applicable customer/contractor rebates and/or incentive payments once program standards are met. 

3. Markets Residential Zap Cap, Energy Planner and Renewable Energy programs to achieve Department goals.

4. Assists in projects and additional assignments as directed by Supervisor or Manager, including participating in presentations to various sized groups and participating in job-related, publically attended events (trade shows, fairs, etc.


Qualification: 

Required: Valid High School diploma or Valid GED with a minimum of 2 years related experience in energy management and utility customer service; or a minimum of 4 years related work experience with progressively more complex assignments. 

Valid driver's license and use of reliable personal vehicle necessary to perform field activities anywhere in Tampa Electric service territory.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

Bilingual (Spanish)

Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office suite, use of laptops and wireless technologies; Above average mathematical and analytical skills to perform calculations necessary to administer and verify conservation programs; Above average oral and written communication skills; Proficient planning and organizational skills to coordinate personal, autonomous work schedule to maximize time available for field activities and meet Customer requests in a timely manner and within requirements of the Florida Public Service Commission; Ability to work independently, as well as in a self-directed team.


Preferred:

Associates degree/2 years of college education or Bachelor's degree. Experience in electric utility customer service, knowledge of Customer Service programs, experience in high bill resolution and energy conservation techniques; Effectiveness in conducting presentations, maintains a contractor's license (minimum of 2 years) with a minimum of 4 years related experience in residential construction.
