Job description

The Endpoint Protection Administrator will operate, manage, and deploy DISA-approved endpoint security tools such as Endpoint Security System (ESS) and Microsoft Defender. This role is responsible for monitoring and maintaining endpoint protection compliance, managing security policies, responding to threats, and providing operational support across NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and isolated network environments.Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, manage, and deploy endpoint security tools (ESS, MDE/MDfS) in accordance with DoD and DISA policies.
  • Monitor, maintain, and facilitate endpoint protection compliance throughout its lifecycle.
  • Perform rogue system detection, removable storage monitoring, policy and scan creation, and tuning of firewall, Intrusion Protection System (IPS), and Antivirus components.
  • Validate, register, and maintain documentation for approved mass storage devices.
  • Investigate, remediate, and document denial-of-service incidents.
  • Create and maintain custom queries, reports, and dashboards for system and policy compliance.
  • Monitor and report on cyber and insider threats.
  • Facilitate and approve endpoint protection application upgrades and changes.
  • Coordinate Tier III vendor support for troubleshooting and manage tool accounts and credentials.
  • Conduct audits and provide required documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Certification: Current DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification with a network environment focus and ESS certifications.
  • Experience:
    • Five or more years of relevant/recent experience with endpoint tools and cybersecurity.
    • Three or more years of relevant/recent experience with Microsoft Office products.
