Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring at least 1 year of experience, ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications, and Cerner experience, with a 4x10 day shift schedule and on-call requirements.
Details
- Inpatient hospital endoscopy unit setting
- Shift schedule is 4x10 days, 7:00โ17:30
- On-call required 1 night per week and every 3rd weekend
- Holiday on-call coverage required if needed
- Patient ratio is 1:1
- Charting system is Cerner Surginet; experience is required
- Common procedures include colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, esophageal varices and banding, bronchoscopy, and sclerotherapy
- Skills include administering and monitoring conscious sedation, airway management, recovering monitored anesthesia care sedation, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- Equipment used includes electrosurgical units, ERBE portable coagulation instrument, polyp snares, foreign body equipment, forceps, and lithotripters
- Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals may be required based on census/volume
Requirements
- Active IN RN license or compact RN license required (pending licensure may be considered)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS (pending certs accepted prior to start)
- Minimum 1 year of endoscopy RN experience required
- OR nurses must have prior endoscopy experience; ICU nurses must have conscious sedation experience
- Cerner charting experience required
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Previous charge nurse experience required
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates are not accepted
- Pre-start orientation modules of up to 8 hours must be completed within 1 week of signing; modules are self-reported and completed before the start date
- Maximum of 10 days of RTO allowed; if RTO falls during holidays, traveler must be willing to work at least 1 of the 3 holidays
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
- Professional conduct is taken seriously; unprofessional behavior or excessive call-offs may result in immediate contract termination
- Scrubs are provided
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience are preferred
- Preferred skills include Provation charting, specimen handling/labeling, and outpatient endoscopy center experience
- Preferred procedures include EBUS, EUS, ERCP, and sclerotherapy
- Parking is provided at no cost
