What is an endoscopy center?

An endoscopy center is a specialized medical facility where physicians perform endoscopic procedures to examine and treat conditions within the digestive tract and other internal organs. These centers are equipped with advanced technology that allows doctors to insert a flexible tube with a camera (an endoscope) into the body for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Common procedures include colonoscopy, gastroscopy, and sigmoidoscopy. Endoscopy centers are often designed for outpatient care, meaning patients can have their procedures done and return home the same day.
