Role Description The Endoscopist will perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, in an on-site clinical setting in New York, NY. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing patients, reviewing medical histories, obtaining informed consent, and performing procedures in accordance with clinical guidelines and safety protocols. The role involves interpreting findings, documenting results, collaborating with referring clinicians, and developing appropriate treatment or follow-up plans. The Endoscopist will participate in quality assurance activities, maintain accurate and timely medical records, and contribute to patient education regarding procedures and outcomes. This is a full-time, on-site role that requires active engagement in clinical care, teamwork, and adherence to regulatory and institutional standards.

Qualifications

  • Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology or related specialty, with formal training in endoscopy.
  • Valid, unrestricted New York State medical license (or eligibility to obtain) and current DEA registration.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopy, including safe use of endoscopic equipment.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to develop evidence-based care plans.
  • Commitment to patient safety, infection control, and adherence to procedural protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment and manage time and priorities efficiently.
  • Experience with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Participation in continuing medical education and willingness to engage in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Prior experience in an outpatient endoscopy center or hospital-based endoscopy unit is preferred.
