Job description

STS Packaging, a Schwarz Partners, L.P. affiliate company is currently seeking an 2nd Shift Asitrade Single Face Operator in Mooresville, IN. The Asitrade Single Face Operator reports to the Shift Supervisor. The Asitrade Single Face Operator is responsible for all activities associated with all aspects of the Wet End insuring a quality product in a safe and efficient manner. The operator is responsible for knowing how to perform all of the job duties associated with the position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION
  • Read and understand a factory order card.
  • Read and understand a roll tag and consumption process through Dynamics 365.
  • Identify Paper Types Correctly.
  • Check spec (other materials, flute, paper grades) to factory order.
  • Ability to control warp and operate water spray system.
  • Ability to search roll stock availability on wet end computer.
  • Ability to Troubleshoot any issues.
  • Ability to set up splices to be successful.
  • Roll Preparation and roll management.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.

OTHER SIGNIFICANT JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE
  • Comprehend instructions given by supervisors.
  • Ability to communicate with Laminator and stacker operator.
  • Take responsibility for communicating with other shift employees how job is running, problems, adjustments, etc.
  • Ability to stage rolls according to lineup.
  • Maintain a clean and organized area.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Conform to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures and policies to assure products are suitable for food contact.
  • Responsible for reporting any product quality or food safety issues to the Quality Manager (SQF Practitioner) or Management Team member.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS
  • High School degree or GED.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.)
  • Knowledge of how to perform basic quality checks.
  • Must follow Safety/GMP/PPE guidelines.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Take direction from Shift Supervisor.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Read and understand instructions and job information.
  • Desire to accept additional responsibility and learn new tasks.
  • Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Fluent in English required.
  • Fluency in Spanish a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Constant standing, walking, talking, hearing; occasional sitting; specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception and peripheral vision. The position also requires the ability to stand 90% of shift and lift up to 45 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be available.

  • Tools required for the job: Steel toe shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets.
