Job description

The Commercial Banking Associate provides broad-based support to Lenders and Banking Officers, facilitating both lending and deposit operations. This role ensures efficient service, detailed documentation, and effective client relations by managing a variety of banking activities and administrative duties.
This position is ideal for those seeking to deepen their understanding of commercial banking operations while contributing significantly to the success of the banking team. The Commercial Banking Associate will gain hands-on experience across a range of banking functions, preparing them for future growth within the organization.
This role supports Commercial Bankers and Lenders within the Colorado Market by assisting with client management, opening and maintaining bank accounts, processing wires, portfolio oversight, and loan servicing. It involves collaborating with various departments across the Bank to address both internal and external customer needs. Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to, these key areas:
Key Responsibilities
  • Lending Support: Assist customers and Bank Officers with all aspects of lending operations, including but not limited to loan closings, organizing loan documents, processing loan fundings and payments, handling loan advances, monitoring loan reports, and clearing loan exceptions. Collection of financial statements, request appraisals, provide service for client inquiries, and assist with the management of Lenders' existing portfolio. Submit loan applications to underwriting, pull credit and background checks, serve as a liaison between Lender and Credit Analysis, gather insurance information, and monitor upcoming loan maturities.
  • Deposit Support: Aid customers and Bank Officers with deposit-related tasks such as opening new bank accounts, processing wire transfers, completing maintenance forms, handling account transfers, changes, or closures. Assisting with online banking, monitoring daily overdrafts, ordering accessory products, and answering inquiries related to customer accounts. Having a general understanding of Treasury Management products and retail bank operations.
  • Administrative Responsibilities: Support Bank Officers and Lenders by performing administrative duties, including answering phones, general correspondence, covenant monitoring, borrowing base reviews, clearing past dues and exceptions, monitoring portfolio reports, maintaining asset quality, fraud monitoring, organizing and filing financial information, and ensuring all required paperwork is accurate and complete. This function is critical to maintaining compliance and ensuring smooth operations within the lending and servicing process.
  • Handle other duties and projects, as assigned.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Docusign, and other bank software applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Annual Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00. This position is nonexempt. Compensation is aligned to experience, skills and education. Benefits: The bank offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage; paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave; and 401(K) plan. Hours of paid leave may vary based on position. This position is expected to close on September 30, 2026
A Bachelor's degree and two years related experience is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
