Job description

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor/Manufacturing Management, the Set Up Trainee Associate is responsible for setup, breakdown cleaning and preventive maintenance on the Encapsulation/Tablet machine and all ancillary equipment. Also responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist on the complete changeovers, set- ups and start -ups of Encapsulation/Tablet machine with the guidance of the set-up trainer.
  • Assist on the major and minor cleaning and sanitization of the Encapsulation/Tablet machine and all ancillary equipment with the guidance of the set-up trainer.
  • Basic knowledge measuring tools, hand tools and hardware.
  • Assist with Preventative Maintenance on the Encapsulation/Tablet machine, polisher, deduster and powder transfer equipment as per the PM checklist as instructed by trainer.
  • Assist mechanic to solve mechanical issues as needed.
  • Set up powder transfer / vacuum-max.
  • Check the physical parameters following batch record and product appearance as per reference board during the startup process.
  • Check the physical parameters following batch records during troubleshooting as needed.
  • Uses proper tools to perform a specific task.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Electrical knowledge is helpful but not necessary.
  • Understanding of Lock-out/Tag-out
  • Must be able to read and write in English.
  • Must comply with GMP requirements; specific functions and documents will be discussed in GMP and on the job training.
  • Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals, and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, and shellfish).
  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
  • Ability to work in a physically challenging environment, including bending, twisting, and standing for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours.
  • Must be able to work in a physically challenging environment.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel and climb.
