Agency Overview:

Mohegan Emergency Medical Service proudly serves the Mohegan Lake community and surrounding areas, responding to over 4,000 calls annually. Our members are committed to providing high-quality emergency medical care while fostering a strong team-oriented environment.

Position Overview:

Mohegan Emergency Medical Service is seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to serve as Volunteer EMTs and Drivers. Members respond to emergency medical calls, provide patient care, and support community events. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, serve the community, and be part of a growing and active EMS agency.

This is an unpaid volunteer position.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to emergency calls for service
  • Provide Basic Life Support care in accordance with NYS protocols (EMTs)
  • Operate agency ambulances and EMS vehicles safely (Drivers)
  • Assist with patient lifting, moving, and transport
  • Participate in training drills, meetings, and continuing education
  • Maintain equipment readiness and station duties
  • Represent the agency professionally within the community

Minimum Qualifications:

For EMTs:

  • Current New York State EMT Certification
  • Current CPR (BLS) Certification
  • Ability to meet physical demands of EMS operations

For Drivers (Non-EMT):

  • Valid New York State Driver’s License
  • Current CPR (BLS) Certification
  • Clean driving record (subject to review)

MEMS Youth Corps:

  • 14-17 Year's old
  • Parental Consent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior EMS or emergency services experience
  • Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) certification preferred

Training & Benefits:
