Job Title: EMS Captain - Fire Department

Location: Clemson, SC

Schedule:

  • 24 Hours On / 48 Hours Off
  • Rotating Shift Schedule
Position Overview

The EMS Captain supervises EMTs and Paramedics, oversees emergency medical operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and coordinates emergency response activities. The role serves as a leader within the fire department and supports operational readiness and personnel development.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise EMS personnel during emergency responses.
  • Coordinate medical operations and resource deployment.
  • Ensure compliance with EMS protocols and standards.
  • Conduct training, evaluations, and performance reviews.
  • Investigate incidents and prepare reports.
  • Manage medical equipment, supplies, and inventories.
  • Collaborate with hospitals and public safety agencies.
  • Support departmental strategic initiatives and planning.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred).
  • State Paramedic Certification.
  • ACLS, BLS, and PALS Certifications.
  • EMS supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
