primary functions:
Process member loan applications and strive to grow the consumer loan portfolio. Communicate loan decision after application is completed and decisioned. Maintain knowledge of all lending and payment protection products and services. Identify opportunities for protecting the loan when possible. Qualify non-members for membership and open deposit accounts as needed by the members. Maintain knowledge of title and insurance laws in all states served by the credit union.
responsibilities:
  • Take complete loan applications via telephone, mail, fax, in person and other electronic delivery means.
  • Evaluates proof of income and analyzes credit reports. Performs follow-up work as necessary and coaches' members on credit reports and ways to improve score.
  • Provide loan approval when application is within lending authority and recommendation to underwriters when application is outside of authority.
  • Deliver decision to member and prepare loan documents for funding for approved loans.
  • Qualify non-members for membership, open accounts and make effective cross-sell recommendations to new and existing members.
  • Solicit all types of new accounts, cross sell credit union services, and add new relationships to existing accounts based on the member needs in an effort to meet both credit union and individual goals.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of all ancillary products' features and benefits to make effective recommendations to members and achieve credit union goals.
  • Remain abreast of changes in credit union lending policy, procedures, as well as consumer lending practices and willingly share knowledge with others.
  • Obtain necessary lending licensing.
  • Meet credit life/disability, GAP and warranty goals as set by the credit union.
  • Maintain the integrity of all members' records in a confidential manner.
  • Comply with all federal regulations, credit union policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy and the USA Patriot Act.
  • Perform job duties in accordance with the Credit Union's values, mission and vision.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
minimum requirements:
  • High School Diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2 years of Lending Experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of products.
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Handle High Volume.
  • Work in a Team Environment.
  • Ability to Multi-task.
