Their primary role is to promote and maintain the health, safety, and well-being of employees in various organizations. They may conduct health assessments, manage workplace injuries, provide health education, and ensure compliance with health regulations. Employment RNs often collaborate with employers, insurers, and safety specialists to create a safe and healthy work environment.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an Employment RN?

To thrive as an Employment RN, you need a comprehensive understanding of occupational health, clinical assessment, and case management, typically backed by a nursing degree and RN licensure. Familiarity with occupational health software, electronic health records, and relevant certifications like COHN or COHN-S is highly beneficial. Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities are essential for effectively managing workplace health issues and collaborating with both employees and employers.
