Position Summary

The HR Manager (SCM Operations) is responsible for providing dedicated, on-site human resources support to employees and drivers assigned to the SCM Operations team.
This role serves as the primary HR point of contact for employee relations, ensuring compliance with company policies, labor laws, and operational standards, while supporting workforce stability and engagement within the SCM operation.

While recruitment and payroll coordination are included, the core focus of this role is employee relations, including issue resolution, disciplinary processes, attendance and performance management, and day-to-day HR guidance for both drivers and non-driver staff.


Key Responsibilities


  • Employee Relations (Primary Responsibility)
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for SCM-assigned drivers and employees
  • Manage employee relations matters, including:
    • Attendance and punctuality issues
    • Performance management and corrective actions
    • Workplace conduct, policy violations, and investigations
    • Conflict resolution between employees, supervisors, and operations management
  • Ensure consistent and fair application of company policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance to SCM managers on disciplinary actions, documentation, and escalation

  • HR Support for Drivers & Operations Staff
  • Support HR lifecycle processes for SCM personnel, including onboarding, transfers, leaves, and offboarding
  • Act as liaison between HR, Operations, Safety, and Payroll teams
  • Address driver-specific HR issues in coordination with Safety and Operations (non-safety determinations)

  • Recruitment & Staffing Coordination
  • Support recruiting activities for SCM Operations roles, including drivers and support staff
  • Coordinate interviews, pre-employment requirements, and onboarding logistics
  • Partner with recruiting vendors or staffing agencies as needed
  • Monitor staffing levels and proactively flag workforce risks to HR and Operations leadership

  • Payroll & Timekeeping Support
  • Support accurate timekeeping and payroll processing for SCM employees and drivers
  • Review timesheets for compliance with company policies prior to payroll submission
  • Address payroll-related employee inquiries and coordinate corrections with Payroll team
  • Policy Implementation & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FLSA and applicable DOT-related employment requirements
  • Support implementation and enforcement of company HR policies and procedures
  • Maintain proper employee documentation in HR systems (e.g., BambooHR)
  • On-Site HR Presence & Leadership Support
  • Maintain a consistent on-site HR presence within the SCM Operations facility
  • Build strong working relationships with SCM leadership to support operational effectiveness
  • Provide HR guidance aligned with both HR standards and operational realities

  • Reporting & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate employee records and case documentation
  • Prepare regular HR status updates and issue summaries for HR Team Head
  • Escalate sensitive or high-risk issues promptly and appropriately

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of HR generalist or HR manager experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, or operations-heavy environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR best practices
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience supporting hourly, non-exempt, and driver workforces


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting driver populations (CDL)
  • Familiarity with DOT-regulated environments (employment-related aspects)
  • On-site HR experience within warehouse, terminal, or SCM operations
  • Experience using HRIS/ATS platforms (e.g., BambooHR)


Work Schedule and Location

  • Full-time, on-site position at the SCM Operations facility in Ellabell, GA
  • Frequent interaction with drivers, supervisors, and operations leadership
  • May require flexibility in work hours based on operational needs
