Job description

VG Meats is looking for an Operations Leader in Simcoe, ON! The successful individual will perform daily operational duties leading our Rollstock Department.

What you will do as the Line Lead:

  • Ensure Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Adherence to Quality standards
  • Responsible for reporting and addressing food safety issues
  • Design and lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage employee relations; both recognition and progressive discipline
  • Ensure employee training goals and programs are maintained and skill matrix is current
  • Monitor and manage all maintenance, safety and sanitation programs for compliance and frequency
  • Mentor, coach, and successfully lead hourly associates to improve skills and performance
  • Reports to: Plant Manager
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in manufacturing/production management or a related field of study; and/or equivalent related work experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills combined with strong organizational skills
  • Proven track record of leadership and motivational abilities
  • Previous supervisory/leadership experience
  • Food experience preferred
  • First Aid certification preferred
  • Computer literate and mechanically inclined
