Job description

Summary/Objective:

As a Business Development Manager at Speedwell, you will play a pivotal role in initiating and cultivating connections with current and prospective clients. You will provide invaluable preconstruction assistance by guiding clients through the budgeting and estimating process for contracts, fostering trust and confidence in Speedwell's capabilities. This position demands strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of the construction process, and a passion for building lasting relationships.

Essential Functions:
  1. Identify and establish new relationships with clients new to Speedwell (preferably in the healthcare industry), nurturing these connections to foster long-term partnerships.
  2. Collaborate in developing a Customer Relationship Management system to ensure high-quality maintenance of all relationships.
  3. Guide customers through the design and estimating process, offering expert advice and support at every stage.
  4. Foster ongoing communication with clients, reaching out periodically throughout the project lifecycle. Nurture these relationships beyond project completion, ensuring clients choose Speedwell for future endeavors and confidently recommend our company to their network.
  5. Address questions or concerns during the warranty process, coordinating with internal teams to resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  6. Actively engage in strategic community organizations to enhance personal and company exposure and position Speedwell as a trusted industry leader.
  7. Coordinate with field staff to relay assignment details and compile a weekly report on manpower for distribution.
  8. Understand and adhere to our company's vision, mission, values, and brand.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for orchestrating and supervising the client development process, from developing potential client candidates to ensuring customer connection through the completion of projects. They may also serve as a coach or resource for other positions in the company.

Work Environment:

This role divides their time between working in an active office environment, visiting job sites, and attending various meetings. Personal protective equipment and other safety gear must be used as required in certain situations.

Physical Demands:

This role requires attending job sites where the employee may be required to climb ladders, cross uneven ground, and drive. The employee spends a portion of their day using office equipment, which may cause eye or muscle strain. The employee will occasionally need to lift office equipment, supplies, and materials (15 lbs.)

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is an exempt, full-time position. The work hours are Monday through Friday, with 40 hours per week being the expectation. The employee may have to work evenings or weekends as required.

Travel:

This role requires regular travel to job sites and frequent meetings with current and potential customers. The employee will occasionally travel for educational training.

Required Education and Experience:
  • -High School Diploma or equivalent
  • -Working knowledge of the construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations
  • -Basic understanding of Information Technology
  • - 10 + years of sales or construction experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • -Four (4) year degree
  • -Healthcare construction experience
  • -Construction project management skills
  • -OSHA 10-hour certification
  • -Ability to read, write, and understand contract language, contract drawings, and contract specifications
  • -Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) software
Work Authorization/Clearances:

The employee must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and Motor Vehicle Record review. The employee must have a current driver's license.
