Job description

Qualifications, Education and Licensure:  
The Emotional Disabilities Teacher must be able to perform the attached essential job functions and satisfactorily demonstrate the competencies for certified staff.  The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Requirements:




  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education
  • Hold and maintain current Indiana licensure for mild disabilities
  • Possess basic knowledge of special education laws and regulations and can follow developed procedures

 
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Provides special education services to individuals with emotional disabilities within the school setting. Emotional disabilities classrooms support a variety of diverse student needs both in the special education and general education setting.
Responsibilities:



  1. Develop and implement IEPs specific to student needs.
  2. Assist and support building staff and parents in the development, implementation, and revision of student functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans
  3. Facilitate case conferences for all students on the assigned caseload.
  4. Develop lesson plans in alignment with student IEP goals for academic, behavioral, and social skills instruction
  5. Update and provide data-based quarterly progress reports
  6. Instruct and direct assigned paraprofessionals to maximize delivery of instructional services
  7. Collaborate with general education staff to maximize opportunities for inclusion
  8. Facilitate communication between all stakeholders
  9. Collects appropriate student performance data for determining the extent to which IEP goals and objectives are achieved
  10. Participate in all scheduled training throughout the school year.
  11. All other duties as assigned.
