Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting with the management of the Bicycle Shop operation including bicycle delivery & rentals (walk-ins and advance reservations), bicycle repairs, retail sales, assist with the delivery/pick up process of bicycle rentals. Duties include supporting the Bicycle Shop Manager with staff training and supervising, reservations, facility maintenance, and providing a high level of guest service.
Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide world-class guest service in person, over the phone and via email for all guest and owner bicycle rental reservations
  • Trains staff on proper procedures.
  • Conducts on-the-job training as necessary and coordinates workflow based on guest needs and work demands.
  • Review operations and conduct inspection in areas of responsibility to ensure desired standards of quality, service, cleanliness, and controls are maintained. The ability to direct corrective action where required.
  • The ability to develop relationships with residents, guests, group contacts, etc., to provide maximum personalized guest service.
  • Good mechanical skills and able to use hand tools, to repair and assemble bicycles.
  • Regularly conducts bicycle deliveries and pickups throughout the resort.
  • Ensures that vehicles are properly maintained.
  • Completes necessary paperwork including delivery and pick up reports, daily rental charges, daily deposit reports, and incident reports.
  • Effectively and Efficiently handle guest concerns and complaints with the highest level of customer service
  • Assisting guests with walk-up bicycle rentals. Picking out the proper size for the renter, while making sure each bike is safe and in good mechanical condition. This would include washing bikes and making basic mechanical adjustments.
  • Helping to maintain cleanliness, organization, supplies and retail inventory of the bicycle shop
  • Must work holidays and most weekends.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to reach with arms and hands; bend and stoop; remain at post standing for extended periods of time; may be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
  • We are staffed 364 days of the year, so flexibility with your schedule and willingness to work holidays will be a necessity and be able to work alone and as part of a team
  • Must be able to multi-task, work well under pressure, pay close attention to the details, be able to confidently provide recommendations for a wide variety of resort activities/services, and possess strong communication skills
  • A minimum of 2 years supervisor experience in customer service related position is required
  • Strong typing and phone skills, proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are a must in this role.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs and capable of working consecutive hours without sitting down. 50%-Stands during shift
  • Average math skills and merchandising skills

Desirable:
  • Prior guest relations training
  • Hospitality supervisor experience
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certified
  • College graduate

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Ability to communicate in English with members/guests/employees to their understanding.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Many activities/tasks will be performed outdoors in variable weather conditions, including hot, cold, and windy weather. Temperature can be extreme, but is usually moderate.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Education - HS Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Two or more years of experience in Guest Service Environments

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
  • Valid South Carolina Driver's License
