Job description

We are hiring a full-time Hazmat Branch Manager to oversee environmental emergency response operations and branch personnel in the Denver, CO metro area. The Branch Manager directs hazardous materials incident response, industrial services, regulatory compliance, and workforce management. This is a 24/7 on-call, field-active leadership role. Base salary: $93,600 per year; billable overtime earnings average approximately 40% above base annually.

Key Responsibilities - Hazmat Branch Manager

  • Direct hazardous materials emergency response operations including spill containment, incident recovery, and governmental agency reporting following each event
  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage branch personnel; ensure all staff maintain current HAZWOPER and required safety certifications
  • Oversee and participate in confined space entry operations and industrial tank cleaning projects on a regular basis
  • Implement and maintain operational processes designed to achieve regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and safety program goals
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call emergency response rotation and travel regularly to customer sites, response locations, and company facilities throughout the region

Qualifications - Hazmat Branch Manager

  • Minimum one (1) year of supervisory or management experience in field operations
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to pass MVR, background, and pre-employment and ongoing drug/alcohol screenings
  • Ability to work 40+ hours per week with 24/7/365 on-call availability for emergency dispatch
  • Must be able to read, speak, and understand English; willingness to travel throughout the Denver metro and surrounding region
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in environmental services, hazardous materials, or emergency response strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications - Environmental Emergency Response Operations Manager

  • HAZWOPER 40-hour certification (29 CFR 1910.120) or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Experience managing industrial cleaning, tank cleaning, or confined space entry operations
  • Working knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and DOT hazardous materials regulations
  • Prior experience submitting incident reports to local, state, or federal regulatory agencies
  • CDL or operational experience with response vehicles and pressure washing equipment

Physical Requirements - Hazmat Branch Manager

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move drums and materials; operate shovels and pressure washing equipment in active field environments
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights in industrial settings
  • Must be able to wear and work in respiratory protection equipment; clean-shaven where respirator seal is required per OSHA 1910.134
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme Colorado temperatures, and in confined spaces on active job sites
  • Regular travel and field deployment required; shift hours vary based on emergency response demand
