Job Summary
This is the second level of a three-level job series responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and sustaining the Distribution All-Hazards Emergency Management Program. Working independently on routine assignments, this position serves as a key member of the Emergency Preparedness Center (EPC), supporting the company's mission to enhance organizational resilience, readiness, response, and recovery capabilities across all hazards.
This role supports and may lead the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of emergency management, emergency response, business continuity, crisis management, and recovery plans and exercises in accordance with industry best practices and emergency management doctrine and principles. The position also operates systems and databases related to emergency restoration and outage management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
2+ years directly related experience (in addition to preferred degree or its equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience); Prefer in-depth knowledge of engineering theories and principles; Prefer in-depth knowledge of industry codes, government regulations and related company policies and practices; Previous experience with fully executing projects; Strong knowledge and understanding of company and department procedures and other business processes and functions; Strongly prefer experience working with the Resources on Demand System (RoD), ARCOS, and/or TRSi; Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to effectively lead and facilitate multiple project teams simultaneously; Ability to quickly resolve complex problems and adjust work plans with limited supervision; Proficiency in application of business process improvement methodology, benchmarking, and change management; Strong customer service orientation; In-depth knowledge of operation, maintenance and technical design applications; In-depth knowledge of design and operation of complex systems and equipment which may be indicated by advanced certification or licenses; Equally effective working independently or in a team environment; Strong oral and written communication skills to include skill in technical writing; Strong computer and software skills; Excellent organizational and project management skills; Skilled in evaluation techniques; Ability to perform root cause analysis to determine the most probable cause of problems and undesired events; Strong analytical and abstract thinking and problem solving skills; ability to process information quickly; Ability to address multiple tasks simultaneously and to handle constantly changing and emerging priorities.
