What You’ll Do 

The Registered Nurse works at our main hospital campus, reporting directly to the Emergency Department Director. In this role, you’ll provide professional, compassionate care to patients in a Level IV emergency department. As a rural health facility, our ED sees a wide variety of cases—some routine, some unexpected—offering an opportunity to use strong critical thinking and broad clinical skills while caring for patients and families in our community.

  • Triages each patient and determines priority of care based on physical, psychological, and social needs. 
  • Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. 
  • Assists physicians during examinations and emergency procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. 
  • Observes patients’ progress, records observations in patient medical record, and updates attending physician directly when necessary. 
  • The RN assists in the maintenance of health and the prevention or management of illness, injury and disability. 
  • Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing. 
  • Active license in the State of Colorado as an RN.
  • Must have an American Heart Association BLS card within 3 months of initial employment and maintain current status throughout GRHD employment.
  • American Heart Association ACLS, PALS or ENPC and TNCC certifications are required within 6 months of initial employment and must be maintained throughout GRHD employment.
  • One year of professional nursing experience in an emergency department setting preferred.

  • Pay Range: $30.50 - $47.36/hour (based on experience)
  • Shift Differentials: $2–$4/hour for nights and weekends, and other incentive pay available.
