Bring your emergency medicine expertise to a community where your care truly matters. Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services, in partnership with Indian Health Services (IHS), is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Physician for a 1099 contract assignment at Hopi Health Care Center. This opportunity is ideal for a physician who enjoys providing high-quality emergency care while working in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Start Date: September
Schedule: up to Full-time hours 12-hour shifts
Contract Length: Up to 1 year with additional extension options available
Location: Polacca, Arizona

What You'll Do
  • Provide emergency medical care to patients presenting with a wide range of conditions and acuity levels.
  • Perform patient evaluations, diagnose medical conditions, and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Manage emergency department patients from initial assessment through disposition.
  • Stabilize patients experiencing acute illness or injury.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic testing, laboratory results, and imaging studies.
  • Provide patient and family communication regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

  • Credentialing process may take up to 90 days
  • 2 years of ED experience as a Physician, post residency required

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • MD or DO from an accredited institution
  • Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine (preferred)
  • Valid medical license from any U.S. state accepted
  • Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience
  • Experience treating both adult and pediatric patients
  • Current DEA registration
  • Active ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications
  • Prior locum tenens and/or IHS experience preferred
