Job Summary:

The Manager, Customer Incentives will lead a team of Analysts to maximize incentive opportunities for Customer's energy efficiency projects. The Customer Incentives team supports the Internal Sales function by reducing payback and upfront capital necessary for customer programs, furthering the value EMC provides. This role involves managing daily operations, optimizing processes, and ensuring accurate incentive processing. The Manager will maintain a deep understanding of incentive structures, energy financing and industry trends while building strong relationships with utility representatives to maximize incentives and improve processing efficiency. Additionally, the position involves refining reporting systems and providing ongoing training to enhance team performance.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead and support the Incentive Analysts to ensure high performance, engagement, and equitable workload distribution.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and profitability of incentive processing.
  • Oversee detailed forecasting, tracking, and reporting of incentive estimates, applications, and payments, while refining internal reporting systems for improved management.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of incentive structures and key industry players across North America.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with utility representatives to understand the right approach for maximizing incentives and improving processing efficiency.
  • Support Internal Sales function in customer portfolio prioritization by building and maintaining knowledge database, including but not limited to: incentives, energy rates, decarbonization, and legislation.
  • Manage and communicate workload assignments to Analysts at both a Customer and Regional level to ensure balanced task distribution and timely completion.
  • Coach Analysts on identifying and driving initiatives across various energy-saving measures (e.g., Lighting upgrades, EV chargers, HVAC, Building Management Systems) and incentive opportunities at utility, state, and federal levels to maximize incentives.
  • Develop and deliver regular training programs to enhance the accuracy of documentation, improve the level of analysis in incentives processing, and ensure timely incentive payments.
  • Support and coach analysts for growth and success in their careers.
  • Represent EMC at industry events to support goals and expand professional networks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Four-year degree preferred in Business or Environmental Studies, Engineering or related degree.

Experience Preferred/Other Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of management experience preferred.
  • Leadership and communications skills necessary to be an effective leader and negotiator.
  • Experience within the energy industry and/or experience working with or within utility incentive program groups is required.
  • Experience and success in a fast-paced and changing industry/business.
  • Experienced in customer/trade partner relationship building.


Physical Job Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • 10% travel required.
