JOB SUMMARY:


The Embroidery & Sewing Technician is responsible for operating commercial embroidery equipment while performing sewing, alterations, and finishing work to support production. This role ensures products are embroidered accurately, assembled to quality standards, and completed on schedule. Working directly with the production team, this position supports efficient workflow, quality craftsmanship, and on-time order fulfillment while maintaining an organized and safe work environment. This role reports directly to the department manager.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate commercial embroidery machines to produce high-quality embroidered garments and products
  • Set up embroidery jobs, including loading designs, selecting thread colors, hooping garments, and adjusting machine settings
  • Monitor embroidery production to ensure quality, accuracy, and efficient machine operation
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime
  • Sew, alter, repair, and assemble garments and fabric products using industrial sewing equipment
  • Trim, finish, inspect, and prepare completed products for packaging and shipment
  • Verify work orders and production specifications to ensure embroidery placement, thread colors, and sewing requirements are accurate
  • Maintain inventory of threads, stabilizers, needles, backing, and sewing supplies, notifying management when replenishment is needed
  • Identify and resolve quality issues while maintaining company workmanship standards
  • Maintain organized workstations and production areas to promote safety and efficiency
  • Collaborate with production staff to prioritize work and meet customer deadlines
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience operating commercial embroidery machines required.
  • Previous sewing, seamstress, or garment construction experience preferred
  • Experience with embroidery software and machine file setup preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, production schedules, and design specifications
  • Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet production deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with the production team
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
