Underground Printing (UGP's) Mission Statement is to help bring customer communities to life through custom branded apparel & merchandise.

We produce all of our printed apparel in our Main factory in Michigan & with 172,000 SF of screen printing and embroidery production and over 300+ employees. We consistently rank in the top 10 largest screen printers by volume in the U.S. and are one of the fastest growing online clothing retailers.
We serve both B2C and B2B customers such as non profits, retailers, and Universities through our store and office locations across the United States. Additionally we help brands and licensors sell online both through company branded and marketplace websites.
Underground Printing (www.undergroundshirts.com) is looking for personable store employees to work at our Iowa City location! This is a perfect job for someone that simply loves College Athletics!
This role will be responsible for assisting customers, maintaining a store's appearance, restocking inventory, and facilitating sales transactions.
The Store Associate will be a member of the Sales Vertical and Store Associate team, reporting to a Sales Manager. This position is classified as 100% In Person position reporting to the assigned store location.
Possible future path for career advancement: Customer Success Representative, Assistant Sales Manager, Sales Manager.
Specific responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Customer Service:
  • Greet customers and provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
  • Assist customers in finding products and provide recommendations based on their needs.
  • Assist customer inquiries, both retail and custom, and provide information about products, services, and promotions, if possible. If unable, will provide customer information and provide it to the Sales Manager.
  • Handle customer complaints or concerns and escalate as necessary.
  • Ensure a positive shopping experience for customers.

Sales and Upselling:
  • Actively engage with customers to promote and sell products.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge and highlight features and benefits.
  • Use effective sales techniques to upsell and cross-sell products.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to overall store revenue
  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.

Merchandising and Product Display:
  • Assist with merchandising activities, including stocking shelves, organizing displays, and arranging products.
  • Ensure products are properly labeled with accurate pricing and information.
  • Maintain a clean and well-presented store environment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and inform supervisors of any stock shortages or excesses.
  • Participate in periodic inventory counts.

Store Operations Support:
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash register reconciliation, security checks, and store cleanliness.
  • Follow store policies and procedures, including handling cash and credit card transactions.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager to ensure smooth operations and effective teamwork.
  • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Adhere to company guidelines and regulations, including dress code and code of conduct.
  • Effectively and efficiently review and ship online orders daily.

Custom Sales Support:.
  • Complete Sales Associate Lessonly Training to have a base understanding of the custom printing side of the business
  • Become familiar with the Core Samples in store and on our website
  • Assist customers in creating quotes and placing custom orders in the absence of a Sales Manager
  • Provide assistance to the Sales Manager with gathering leads, interacting with quotes, and other duties as needed

  • Complete the daily checklist to ensure cleanliness and smooth operations of the store.
