Job description

Software Development Engineer

Join a highly successful software development team in Lincoln Nebraska. We are responsible for application and embedded software development for the EFJohnson radio product line. We are a software engineering team of ~40 members here in Lincoln and offer a relaxed work environment where you will be surrounded by amazing talent.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Develop and maintain application and/or embedded software for the EF Johnson Subscriber and Encryption Products group. Follow the Product Life Cycle process, adhering to schedules, designs, and deliverables. Actively communicate and coordinate with other engineering teams and team members, providing constructive inputs and timely feedback.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develop and maintain embedded software for EFJohnson's subscriber and infrastructure product lines. We have embedded linux and DSP development opportunities Develop requirements and protocol documents for new and existing products. Establish and maintain good inter/intra departmental communication. Identify and correct defects in existing products.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.

COMPETENCIES: Experience with C/C++ is preferred Embedded software development experience a plus Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be a team player. Must be a self-starter with excellent problem solving skills. Intermediate level of knowledge of development tools, test equipment, and documentation procedures is desired.
