Job Description

Allied Universal Technology Services® is hiring an Embedded Service Technician to drive our mission of being the world's most trusted service provider. The Embedded Service Technician serves as a dedicated on-site resource at a client location, providing ongoing service, maintenance, repair, diagnostics, and operational support for access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related electronic security systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a dedicated on-site security technology resource for an assigned client location to perform service, maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair, replacement, and testing of electronic security systems, including but not limited to:
    • Electrified/non-electrified locks, card readers, ancillary door devices
    • IP/analog cameras, head-end video recording devices
    • Wired/wireless systems and intercom systems
  • Respond to client service requests, incidents, and system outages while maintaining established service level expectations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues efficiently and effectively to ensure company compliance, standards and building codes, as well as company safety policies and procedures
  • Support system upgrades, firmware updates, software patches, database maintenance, and equipment replacements
  • Assist with system commissioning, device programming, and configuration changes as directed
  • Execute, document and track service-related issues through ServiceNow in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations
  • Interpret electrical schematics, CAD drawings and related documents for use in low-voltage applications

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a company issued vehicle
  • Minimum of three (3) years of field experience in the electronic security industry
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience servicing, maintaining, or supporting enterprise-level access control and video management systems
  • Possession of state-specific licensing or ability to obtain and hold license once hired
  • Excellent computer skills with the ability to navigate multiple systems, applications, and ticketing platforms
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, electronic, and network-connected security systems, including diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and communication issues within integrated environments
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, networking fundamentals, IP addressing, and server/client environments to support and optimize enterprise security technology platforms
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills to document and report important information with all levels of the organization
  • Ensure the completion of tasks and projects, both independently and as part of a team, to meet deadlines and contribute to the overall success of the organization
  • Strong troubleshooting capability with mechanical and electronics aptitude; proficient in the use of hand and power tools and available for scheduled on-call rotations to respond to emergency service requests
  • Capable of lifting with assistance up to 50lbs and work on various ladder heights

QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Experience with any of the following: Software House, CCURE, Lenel, AMAG, S2, Brivo, Milestone, Exacqvision, Axis, Bosch, Commend, DMP, Open Options, Notifier, Fluidmesh or ONSSI
  • Experience supporting enterprise security operations in healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, data center, critical infrastructure, corporate campus environments or similar vertical markets
  • Experience with integrations between access control, video management, visitor management, intercom, intrusion detection, or building management systems
  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Information Technology, Computer Networking, or related field
  • Industry certifications such as Security+, Network+, A+, manufacturer certifications, or equivalent technical credentials
