Job description

Title: Embedded Linux Software Engineer

Location: Alpharetta, GA

  • Onsite highly preferred.
  • Open to 2 weeks on, 1 month off, 2 weeks on, 1 month off, 2 weeks on

Start date: 6/22

Duration: 3+ months (or temp to perm option)

Overtime expectation: Not expected

Tablet based system for Aerospace and Defense applications

 

Summary:

Oxford’s client just got new boards back and are starting the development from scratch. As the only software developer, you will develop and customize BSPs, do Linux Kernel configuration, U-Boot updates, and hardware bring up. Experience doing driver development would be a plus.

They are looking for a Linux engineer to load the bios and OS, then get the communications going between the host and the server. The BIOS is currently running windows as they wanted to verify the functionality.

The target is an NXP i.MX95. They are integrating and validating PCIe, I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and Ethernet (working with high data rates – i.e., fiber/PCIe/Gigabits/s). They will be working with Yocto/OpenEmbedded to build and maintain, and optimize the Linux distributions.

This is a small team, and the consultant will function as the sole software engineer. Candidates will need to be self starters, operate without a lot of hand holding, and be willing to raise their hands when they need help.
