Join our Team as a FIRMWARE ENGINEERING MANAGER!

The Role:

We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Firmware Engineering Manager who brings enthusiasm, leadership and expertise to the table. In this role, you'll lead and manage multiple firmware engineering teams, ensuring successful execution across concurrent projects and delivery commitments while providing strong technical leadership. You will plan, schedule, and oversee project activities, driving alignment across stakeholders and maintaining clear communication on progress, risks, and outcomes. You will be responsible for owning delivery across multiple programs, proactively managing priorities, resources, and timelines to meet agreed-upon objectives. In addition, you will contribute to strategic planning efforts that extend beyond current initiatives, helping shape long-term technology and organizational direction. This role requires a big-picture mindset and the ability to operate autonomously while balancing technical, operational, and business needs. You will also play a key role in developing and growing your team, strengthening both their technical expertise and professional skills while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Responsible for multiple teams that consist of a supervisor and direct reports.
  • Support financial management of multiple teams by tracking expenses and reporting spend rates to upper management.
  • Prepare strategic roadmap of the department utilizing industry trends, technological advancements, and expertise from team members.
  • Responsible for the proper execution of multiple projects.
  • Committed to working in an alert and safe manner and with engineering rigor while upholding Toyota's Core Values at all times.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 7+ years experience in firmware development, such as bare metal or embedded systems applications
  • 3+ years experience directly leading firmware development projects
  • Understanding of Toyota Material Handling's product portfolio and business practices
  • Possesses a personality of servant leadership and is willing to lead from the trenches
  • Highly skilled and committed to creating strong technical documentation
  • Ability to interact with outside vendors and customers in a professional, customer-centric manner
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams and lead across the organization
  • Must be flexible and willing to learn new skills

  • This is an in-person role located at our Columbus, IN office-ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:

Salary-$149,640 - $191,845per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate's education and experience.
