Job description

OverviewAs an Email & Digital Systems Analyst, you bring strong systems thinking, analytical depth, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset to a complex and evolving environment. You play a critical role in connecting business needs with technical execution-helping power our email and SMS/MMS communications, a key driver of customer experience and revenue.

Room & Board is seeking an Email & Digital Systems Analyst to join our highly collaborative Ecommerce & Digital Experience team. This role sits at the intersection of technology, data, and customer experience and partners closely across Brand, UX, Web Development, Business Systems, and Business Intelligence. Success in this role requires curiosity, ownership, and the ability to independently build understanding in a dynamic, fast-evolving environment.

Reporting to the Email Experience Manager, you will help shape and support the systems, data flows, and processes behind our digital communications. This role is both strategic and hands-on, with an increasing focus on automation, system evolution, and improving how our platforms work together.

Location:

4600 Olson Memorial Highway, Golden Valley, MN 55422

Please note: This role is hybrid, working from the office a minimum of 3 days a week. Not considering remote.

You'll share your talents and experiences in the following ways:

  • Act as a primary liaison between the email team and technical partners (Business Systems, Web Development, BI), translating business needs into clear technical requirements and aligning stakeholders through execution.
  • Lead discovery, requirements gathering, and documentation efforts, with a focus on system automation, data flows, integrations, and platform enhancements.
  • Build deep fluency in the systems and platforms supporting email and SMS/MMS, serving as a go-to resource for how they function and connect.
  • Own and maintain accurate documentation of business-critical data flows, integrations, and automated programs, ensuring clarity as systems evolve.
  • Partner with the Email Experience Manager to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, enhance the customer experience, and scale capabilities.
  • Support and manage multiple concurrent initiatives across the product lifecycle-from solution design and testing through implementation and optimization.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to define and document integrations (including APIs and data flows), ensuring a clear understanding of dependencies and downstream impacts.
  • Drive opportunities to expand automation, streamline workflows, and evolve system functionality over time.
  • Monitor system updates and production issues, proactively assessing impacts and communicating clearly with stakeholders.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships across a wide range of cross-functional partners, navigating ambiguity to move work forward.
  • Contribute to scalable processes, documentation, and best practices as the team continues to grow and mature.

The skills and experience you bring to be successful in this Email & Digital Systems Analyst role:

We're looking for someone who combines strong analytical and technical capabilities with curiosity, ownership, and a drive to deeply understand how systems connect and evolve:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent, relevant experience demonstrating progressive responsibility will be considered.

  • 3-5+ years of experience in a technology-focused Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role; candidates from adjacent technical paths who demonstrate strong systems thinking and increasing ownership of complex initiatives are encouraged to apply.

  • Proven ability to navigate and bring clarity to complex, interconnected system environments, independently developing a deep understanding of data flows, integrations, and platform dependencies.

  • Experience with marketing technology platforms (e.g., email service providers, CRM systems, or customer data platforms) strongly preferred; direct experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is highly valued, along with familiarity with SQL, AMPScript, or similar technologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in documenting and synthesizing complex systems, data flows, and business logic into clear, actionable insights that guide technical and business decisions

  • Self-directed and intellectually curious, with a track record of proactively identifying opportunities, recommending solutions with clear tradeoffs, and influencing outcomes in ambiguous situations

  • Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to operate at both a granular and strategic level, effectively balancing tactical execution with broader program goals

  • Effective collaborator and relationship-builder who partners across technical and non-technical teams, confidently facilitating alignment and keeping stakeholders informed

  • Proactive learner who stays ahead of platform capabilities, release updates, and industry trends, anticipating downstream impacts and identifying opportunities to evolve systems and processes

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience developing technical documentation, leading discussions, and translating complex concepts for diverse audiences

  • Experience working in Agile environments, with familiarity using tools such as Jira, is strongly desired

  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • Salary: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 / yr., depending on experience.
  • Benefits that focus on holistic well-being. The whole person matters, not just the one who shows up for work.
