Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
  • Edit approximately 20-30 short-form social videos each month for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Create engaging, platform-native video content across the Fashion & Luxury portfolio, with a primary focus on ELLE, Esquire, and ELLE Decor.
  • Transform provided footage, scripts, and editorial direction into polished, on-brand videos optimized for each platform.
  • Shape creative storytelling through pacing, text treatments, captions, music selection, and social-first editing techniques.
  • Produce timely, fast-turnaround edits that support breaking trends, cultural moments, events, and editorial priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Social and Video, editors, producers, social leads, and audience teams throughout the production process.
  • Manage review workflows and feedback using tools such as Frame.io, Airtable, and Google Drive while maintaining organized project files.
  • Stay current on evolving social video trends, platform best practices, and emerging editing styles to continuously elevate content performance.

Qualifications (What We're Looking For)
  • 2+ years of experience editing short-form social video, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, including platform best practices and audience behaviors.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Ability to edit efficiently while maintaining high creative and editorial standards in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong instincts for visual storytelling, pacing, social hooks, captions, text overlays, and music selection.
  • Experience incorporating creative feedback and collaborating effectively across editorial, social, video, and audience teams.
  • Familiarity with Frame.io, Airtable, and Google Drive is preferred.
  • Interest in fashion, beauty, lifestyle, entertainment, culture, design, commerce, and media.
  • Experience in a publisher, editorial, media, or branded content environment is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule based in New York City, with four days per week in the office.

The base pay for this role is $26.00 per hour. This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
