Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)

  • Write engaging beauty content spanning SEO-driven service stories, breaking news, trend features, and product coverage.
  • Pitch a high volume of fresh, timely, and audience-focused story ideas each week.
  • Develop content that reflects ELLE's elevated editorial voice and luxury beauty perspective.
  • Monitor beauty trends, product launches, celebrity moments, and industry news to identify compelling coverage opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with editors to refine story angles, optimize content strategy, and maximize audience engagement.
  • Balance speed and accuracy while producing high-quality, well-researched editorial content.
  • Apply SEO best practices to help drive discoverability without compromising editorial excellence.


Qualifications (What We're Looking For)

  • 3+ years of experience writing beauty, fashion, or lifestyle editorial content for a digital publication or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the beauty industry, including products, brands, trends, and the luxury marketplace.
  • Exceptional writing, reporting, and editing skills with a distinctive editorial voice.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance service journalism, trend reporting, and timely news coverage.
  • Experience pitching creative, audience-first story ideas and managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and performance-driven digital publishing.
  • Collaborative mindset with excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in our New York City office on a hybrid schedule of four days per week.

The hourly rate for this role is $35.00 per hour. This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
